People from various localities throughout the valley take gods and goddesses from their temples around the city with music and fanfare during the khat jatra. Members of each guthi organisation wear caps of the same colour. One of them skillfully twirls the large colourful umbrella that provides shade to the khat while the musicians encourage each other with their eyes as they follow the beat. Women come to worship in their finest clothes.
